1850 slave schedule
In 1850 Joseph is registered as owning 21 slaves in Meriwether County, Georgia. Twelve are under the age of 11. The oldest is a 55 year old man, probably Claiborne.
1860 slave schedule
The following were listed to Joseph's son, Leonidas, as Joseph's estate had not been distributed. Some slave belonging to Leonidas are likely mixed in.
